Information Architecture
We believe that website design should be based on well-planned Information Architecture, which is worked out during the wire-framing stage of our design process. Usability is a key part of our approach to web design, which makes our sites intuitive and a pleasure to use.
Aesthetics
Websites need to be attractive and enticing to the user. We research great reference sites on every project to make sure that we are keeping up with all the latest design trends. As a result, our website designs retain a timeless quality.
Style-guides
Refresh takes several approaches to the style of a site:
- We can work with existing designs and update the look of your site
- We can work from style-guides provided by other agencies
- We can create a brand new visual identity for your site that can be used as a style-guide to inform all your other material
Design Process
We work with the following standard web design process, which we have found to be very successful:
- Discuss reference sites and consult existing style-guides
- Create wire-frames to describe the functionality and information structure
- Produce a site-map to define the scope
- Create mockups of the homepage and a selected subpage, which are presented in a browser as flat artwork
- Revise design mockups based on client feedback
- Get final approval from the client and start the development phase
Our designers work closely with our developers during the coding of the site to ensure that the final site carries the brand identity through all the site elements.
